Special ranks are given to members who express an interest in helping
the mobile community. We are always looking for active and knowledgeable
people to join our team.
Moderators are expected to participate at a daily, or near daily
basis. Duties generally include:
- Help answer questions, including from newbies that should have searched
the forum first.
- Start interesting topics to generate activity in the forum.
- Editing topics to be reflective of the thread (Probably most of the
work)
- Delete / edit inappropriate posts and email the author why the post
was removed / edited.
- Making sure people play nice.
- Enforcing the forum guidelines.
As for Advisors the requirements are more lenient. Advisors have no
control over the forum, however they are still an important part of
the community. They are expected to help maintain a helpful atmosphere.
Regular, not daily, participation is expected.
Technical experts are unique in that they are individuals who have
worked in the industry, have in-depth knowledge, and have expressed
an interest in helping with their expertise.
Responsibilities vary however more than anything else moderators
and advisors are responsible for maintaining interest and activity on
topics. They need to get people to the forum and keep them posting.
Forums see ups and downs. Usually a topic will generate a flurry of
initial activity, and then settle down for awhile only to go into high-gear
again because of one hot post. As leaders, they need to help with jump-starts
during slow periods.
Becoming a community leader is a lot of work, more so with moderators
than advisors. However it is also very rewarding.
Our leaders are very important to the life and success of Mobiledia
Forums. There is a lot of responsibility in being part of the leadership
team, but there's also a lot more fun.
Considerations will only be available to active community members.
Selection is based on willingness to help others, technical knowledge,
personality, and posting history. Accepted members start off as Advisors
and work their way up, however exceptions can be made.
Members who want to help the growth and continued success of Mobiledia
Forums should
