Has anyone managed to get this to work?
I have bought a USB data cable for my E700, which was advertised with software and plug and play drivers. It came with just a copy of EasyStudio on CD but no drivers.
When I connect the E700 to the PC (running XP Home) it recognises the device and requests a driver. Having searched these forums for help, I downloaded a USB to Serial driver from the web and installed it.
Device manager now shows a new Port (COM 3) as a USB to Serial bridge and seems to recognise the phone under USB controllers as a USB Mass Storage Device.
However, when I fire up EasyStudio it remains offline and will not recognise the phone as being connected. I have changed the settings to port COM 3 and speed 57600.
Any ideas what I need to do to make this work. Has anyone else actually succeeded in making a connection with a USB cable?
Please help, this is driving me mad.

Still struggling with this.
Does anyone have the correct driver to enable the PC/EasyStudio to recognise the phone/cable?
Please help, it has to be a driver problem.

Play a bit with your speed. 57600 is too low 115200 is minimum. Every you've changed the speed press OK and than Reload.

Success at last, changing the speed upwards (not down as I was trying) and it all works.
Thanks (something so simple!)
For USB to Serial Port driver try:
http://tech.prolific.com.tw/visitor/v_welcome.asp
or this:
http://www.matweb-01.com/English/dls-fds.htm#USB
which has all the instructions as well.

Maverick,
Can you pls tell me which drivers to download...as there are so many of them on both sites...
OK...Got the driver..now the next set of questions...
1. Are you using the MAT USB to Serial Bridge of the Pl-2303?
2. If you are using MAT then is it good enough if I follow the instructions mentioned in the CHM help file.
thanks in advance

If you have a serial cable you don't need any drivers you only need the hardware in you computer.
