Here's my specs:

NO DL Swith Cable I bought from Ebay.com
Samsung E715
Win XP
Easy GPRS 2.1.8 / Wizard installed (upgrade downloaded from samsungmobile.com)
Set up Matches in Easy GPRS and Modem Device Manager. (I've played with Speed settings and COM3, nothing works.)
Windows updates have been downloaded.
I restarted my computer.
Everything says it's working in the modem device manager.

I have my cell phone connected to the cable that's going into the PC. I open Easy GPRS and still get an "Offline" status even after all this and reloading... Do I need the DL switch cable that samsung sales on there site? icon_confused.gif . Or should this generic one work as it claims to work on EBay. ??

Do Easy GPRS COM1 / Modem COM1/ and the Port Speeds all
need to match in order for it to work? I've tried hooking up the cable to the phone after opening Easy GPRS still no dice.

The modem gets a number from Windows mostly its COM3 leave it that way. Check on the back of your computer if you have 2 Com ports if yes in which one is it. If you have only one its Com 1.

I have COM3 by default only. There's no COM1 option. I just spoke with Tech support from Samsung and after downloading the upgrade EasyGPRS 2.1.8 and doing windows XP updates. Still not working ...(OFFLINE) I'm getting the feeling that my Generic Cable (NO DL switch) is not going to work with my E715.? Doe's anyone here know if this cell phone works with the Generic Cable or does it only work with the DL switch one that can be purchased through Samsung. I don't want to pay $79 bucks just for some cable.. any refurbished or used one is fine. I'm wiling to spend up to $5 or $8 bucks plus shipping and handling cost.

Don't buy it from Samsung! I bought my cable for v200 on the net ORIGINAL Samsung PCB093LBE for less then $40. You just gotta look around to find the best price.
