I don't think its the dongle thats the problem its the software, i have the V600 and bought the Motorola recomended software and cable "Mobile Tools PC620" and it works fine both ways. I now use a cheap 10m usb dongle through the software to connect and it works great.
Other software claiming to work on the V600 may encounter problems working with the V600 modem resulting in it timing out and droping the link.
I found the software and dongle cheap on this site much cheaper then buying from Motorola and they are very helpful if it dosn't work they will refund you.

Hope this helps you

ta for the link Hansy - I appreciate it.
decided to get the software + cable from that website; there should be less to go wrong that way hopefully!
The things you'll go through to set Platoon sound clips as your ring tone... tssch.
ta,
Ant.

I have a v500 and I bought a Belkin USB bluetooth device. It did come with software.
I use the OBEX file transfer. It took a few minutes;
I had to select the 'find me' option in Connections > Bluetooth > Setup on the phone
and then on the PC I double clicked "find bluetooth devides" icon and it found my phone,
I found my v500 my girlfriend's v500 and my mates Ngage.
I don't know how different other phones are but it's my understanding that the v500 is very similar to the v525.
From the phone I had to turn the bluetooth power on before I did anything!
I use the OBEX filtransfer both ways fine.
All use Blue tooth devices should come with some sort of software for wireless networking so there shouldn't be a problem these. For the USB cable link I'm sure, I've only played with a LG phone and that was identified by XP and messeges and contacts were exchangable but thats all I know.
What did Windos XP say when you pluged the cable in to it, did it say "new USB device found" and then tried to install it? If it did what did it install it as, was it an external storage device?

Hi all,
I know this is now a pretty ancient post, and I'm sure you have probably found a solution to the problem, but I thought I'd post a reply anyway in case anyone else is having the same troubles!
I got a V600 last week and went out and bought a Blueopal usb adapter to transfer files to and from my phone. Using the software provided I experienced exactly the same problems that the previous 'posters' did with transfers hanging consistently. I had a copy of MPT so I installed that to see if i could get around it that way. It wouldn't even recognise the phone so I stamped my feet again and swore a few times and then did a search on our mate the Internet. I came across a posting on another site for a problem not all that similar to mine but it gave a straight forward routine to get MPT to recognise the usb bluetooth adapter and therefore find the phone. So I gave it a go, and it only blimmin worked! So now i'm happily transferring files all over the place regardless of size/bitrate/frequency etc. So, anyway, rather than cut and paste the lot over here and upset the guy who posted the solution, here's a link to his posting..

Scroll down to June 5th 2004, a longish posting by Chris Antonelli. He's made my day!
Cheers !

Hi, i got sort of the same problem with mi V550, i can download anything from the fone, but i cant upload nothing.
The PC detects the fone fine, and when i try to send something, even connect, but it hangs in sending....
and nothing happens then.
someone had to fix this out.
Its the phone or the dungle????
