I searched through this uber-thread and couldn't find the solution to my problem.
I created a midi that's only about 15k. I have an account on vzwpix and I have sent myself midis in the past. The past few times I've tried, the pic message will go through (I send from my yahoo account to my phone xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com or whatever it is). It loads the message on my phone, and it has the little music note icon in the pic but no sound plays. If I try to save the sound it comes up as dead air when I play it in my media folder too.
I have the LG Vx6000. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your 6000 can only take 7 sec. of a real music ringtone. If you download the app at easyringtonemaker.com, theres a section where you can decrease your ringtone length. Put it at 7 sec for your phone and then see fi that works. It should, I have one of those and thats how i get them. sucks though b/c the 6000 is the only Verizon phone that does this. I'm looking at getting a new one anyways - hopefully soon.
Go check it out though - its pretty cool.

Buto's a midi that isn't working, it's not a real music tone.

If everyone would just buy a V710 there wouldn't be any problems with MP3 ringtones.

Now.
If you guys haven't discovered this yet, you can send yourself ringtones on many verizon phones.
How I do it:
I chop up 30 seconds of a song in NERO WAVE EDITOR.
I use Mp3PRO to encode the mp3 in to a 24bitrate, 16000khz mp3. then i rename it to .mid, and send it off. it works like a charm.

Problem......
I have an Audiovox 8900, which is a camera phone.... but since I'm on the "easypay" plan, there is literally NO WAY for me to download ringers. If I try to email them to my phone, i just get the "go to vzwpix to view ur message" thing. and I can't get get it now.
So if anyone figures out ANY way for me to get ringtones, I dont even care if I have to pay for them.... LET ME KNOW PLEASE! lol, thanks

I had no problem sending the audio file to my phone number. BUT! The only thing I received on my phone is a notification to go to the vzwpix.com website and listen to the file THERE. So now I have this file in my inbox on the website, but not in my phone. Is it because I have a Nokia 3589i and, maybe, it's impossible on this phone, or is there a way to actually get the audio file from the website inbox to the phone??? Pleeeease, help! |
Any luck with this problem? Same thing happens with me....
I assume it is becuase I am on the prepay plan... not the inpulse one, but the old one that isn't a buck a day.
I don't think that I can even use get it now. Is there anyway I can do anything to my phone other than what is there? If I get a USB cable can I transfer pictures from my computer?
I have a v276.
