I have a software that we sell that will allow you to do video clips, ringtones, and pictures. It has 6 chords in case you change your phone model. It retails for 59.99.

after reading all day on how to add ringtones to my razr v3c, I finally figured it out.
1) sign up for www.vzwpix.com
2) convert your audio file to a .wav file, no larger than 3 mb I believe (I've been under 2mb so far), samplerate < 22,050 hz, 30 sec (never tried above)
3) create a message and attach the audio file to a picture (no matter the size)
4) send to yourself xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com
*note - if you are having trouble lowering the quality of your wav file, use windows sound recorder. go to file->properties->convert now
CAUTION - it will convert the file right away so save a copy
OR you could find a wav editor

I got my ringtones to work with the data cable and bitpim, but i cant seem to get the mp3s to work. I dont know how and where to load the mp3s. bitpim has a playlist, but i cant create one. and i cant listen to the ringtones as mp3s.
i dont have a miniSD , but i didnt think i needed it if i only had the data cable and bitpim.
how can i get mp3s uploaded on to my phone (LG VX8100) without the minisd?
thanks alot for your help starwarsfan! |
Hey, I have the exact same problem. I bought two VX8100s with the Music Essentials Kit but without MiniSD cards last night and I've been trying to put a song on my phone ever since. The WMP10 synchronizer refused to work (I've gotten every error imaginable) so I came online and found out about BitPim. It seems like a great little program and possibly the answer to my problems, but for some reason the Play List screen doesn't allow me to do...anything. I can't add songs of any file type to the available songs list (or any other list for that matter).
I bought the phone for its music capabilities and especially for its "extensive" direct-to-computer linking capabilities. I like everything else about the phone and I'd hate to have to take it back because of this one problem. Any help anyone could give would be much appreciated.

I downloaded Bitpim yesterday and I couldn't get the playlist to work either, last week before I even knew these forums were here I bought Datapilot, so far it has made my life vary easy .
I convert the music in Itunes to MP3'S
use MP Trim (free softwear)to cut them down
and Datapilot to load them to the phone
Datapilot = http://www.susteen.com/index.htm
MP Trim = http://www.mptrim.com/
how to convert AAC's to MP3"s inside Itunes = http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic41980-0-asc-10.html

You don have to buy nothing to get ringtones to your phone all you have to do is when you make your ringtone in the right format just use funformoblie website to send to your phone. Ialso heard tha Gmail also works. Their are others sites where you can send it to your phone but you have too look hard. If you use it using that 5555555555@vixpx.com than it might now work. I know yahoo won't do it. If can use http://mobile17.smashsworld.com to make the ringtone if you don want to download the software to trim the song. They can send it too but it don't work for me so i use funformoblie.

I've gone through this forum and have checked out all the ways to put a ringtone onto a Verizon phone... however I believe that they're making it harder with the next generation of phones. I just got an SCH-a930 a week or so ago. Got the microSD/Transflash for it, and am enjoying listening to music on it. However, getting a ringtone is next to impossible. First of all, the phone won't recognize the "Ringtones" directory. I've tried the derivatve of "MY_RINGTONES" as well with no help. Second, trying to email the .mid file to yourself doesn't seem to work either. I get the message, I even get a preview of the sound (which is actually pretty good), but when I go to save the file, the phone crashes. As in, no button response at all. I have to take out the battery and pretty much hard boot.
So... suggestions?

I'll add my experience so far. Emailing doesn't work. Tells me to go to vzwpix.com to get my media. I bought a data cable and of course motorola phone tools doesn't have the multimedia studio on it. I'm working with a V3c.
Any ideas?

Just purchased the Samsung SCH-A930 (on Verizon) and had no problem sending mid files to the phone -- Works just like it did for my old CDM8900. I use a Mac, MP3 trimmer, iTunes and Lame. I use my .Mac email account to send the file to my phone without problems. My file sizes vary from 100-250 KB. It saves your tone to My Sounds.

Ive read most of the posts on this site and none seem to help my specific problem. I recently purchased an LG VX9800 for its qwerty keyboard and mp3 capabilities. I also purchased the music essentials kit. I have been trying to sync the phone with my computer but I always get a connect failure and WMP will not recognize it beyond a few seconds. I downloaded bitpim and am now able to put ringtones on my phone, but there is very limited space for ringtones and i cannot use the ringtones effectively as an mp3 player. I am trying to transfer mp3's from my computer into the MY MUSIC area of my phone, but have had absolutely no luck. Similarly to many other posts, I am also showing nothing in the Play List section of BitPim and the help on it in BitPim is useless. Someone Please help me.
