I am starting to wonder if this emailing process just doesn't work with the VX6000. Is anyone out there having success by emailing .mid files to this type of phone, and having it be able to play them??

Well, I don't know WHAT I was doing wrong creating my .mid file, but it must have been something. I used a music editor to chop the file up, then renamed the mp3 to .mid, but I think something got lost in all that translation BECAUSE
after spending countless .25's failing to be able to play any sound, I downloaded .mid files off the internet that were already created for the phones, and it worked GREAT!
So, I guess I am messing up somewhere in my editing and saving/renaming of the music files .

Let me know what works....this is driving me CRAZY, mainly because I think I MUST be doing something wrong where I am not looking.
I did switch to emailing the file using yahoo mail, but again, if I use downloaded ringtones, I get it to work. When I create my own (using instructions outlined earlier on this thread, even using the exact music editing software mentioned), I get the error messages.

What you have to do is edit any wav or mp3 file, save the file at 22 khz, 48 kbps, mono. After the file is saved, rename the file - changing the extension from wav or mp3 to MIDI...

Does anyone know how to delete the factory-loaded MIDIs from the V265? The only way I've tried was to go to the media/sounds section, mark the file(s), and then delete all marked files. When I do that, it says "0 marked files deleted from phone." Can anyone tell me if deleting them is at all possible, or am I stuck with these MIDIs? Thank you!!

I have been having the same problem. I have tried downloading .mp3, .midi and .wav files onto my Samsung a670 phone and have had no luck. I have decreased the samples to less than 20-25 seconds, gotten the size of the file to under 300kb, (except with wav files, they are always big), but still haven't had success. I read another post on this thread by ernestojr9 (Jan. 11, 2005) that says you can convert the files to wav, but I must be doing something wrong, because it never works for me. If ANYONE has a Samsung a670 and knows how to do this, can you please help!! I have limited knowledge of music editing, so a step-by-step description would be great...if anyone knows how to do it!!! I don't even care if the file are "real music", they can be polyphonic ringtones that I can download off the internet---I just can't stand getting ripped off by Verizon every time I want to get a new ringtone.

Is there anyway I can upload or download MIDIs onto my phone? I too think the "Get It Now" is a ripoff. It's not like Verizon customers pay enough for their bill, right? By the way, I don't have Internet on my phone so I can't use that either. I think Verizon should just ditch the "Get It Now", they're going to lose customers that way ....
