I also got the unsupported content type, when i switched my extension type from mp3 to .mid. I have also tried to save it as .wav and then rename it as a .mid and i got the same message, what am i doing wrong?
I have been having the same problem. I have tried downloading .mp3, .midi and .wav files onto my Samsung a670 phone and have had no luck. I have decreased the samples to less than 20-25 seconds, gotten the size of the file to under 300kb, (except with wav files, they are always big), but still haven't had success. I read another post on this thread by ernestojr9 (Jan. 11, 2005) that says you can convert the files to wav, but I must be doing something wrong, because it never works for me. If ANYONE has a Samsung a670 and knows how to do this, can you please help!! I have limited knowledge of music editing, so a step-by-step description would be great...if anyone knows how to do it!!! I don't even care if the file are "real music", they can be polyphonic ringtones that I can download off the internet---I just can't stand getting ripped off by Verizon every time I want to get a new ringtone.
well sorry but i dont think ur phone event support Mp3 even if you rename them.....

Here's my dilemma on this matter:
I've sucessfully downloaded a ringtone from vtext.com, but let's face it, there ain't much there. I'm using a Motorola V60s, so I don't have Brew or anything fancy like that. I tried emailing myself the midi file I wanted, and all I got was at text message telling me that I had a new pix message at vzwpix.com.
My question: How do I actually get to download the song file I want? I mean, it's a little ridiculous how much I had to go to just to get it sent to a website... never mind the fact that they just earned a couple of bucks off me and I didn't get anything to show for it.
Is there another way for me to *successfully* save ringtones to my phone outside of whatever's on vtext.com, or am I just out of luck?
Thanks
"Yeah man! I'll gnaw yer face off!!!"

No I don't think it does either, but there was some1 that said it did for him. Also, even though it must not be mp3, I can get real music from the Sony Music Box, so if I can get real music form there, I SHOULD be able to get my own real music.. correct???

Hello all,
I've been sending MIDI ringtones to my Samsung a670 the way I learned to in this thread for the last couple of months. But all of a sudden, when I went to send one to my phone today, the MIDI file doesn't get sent, and instead, all I get is a 10-second-long poor quality sound that seems to be like a poor-quality dub of the first 10 seconds of the MIDI. I thought my ringtone was too complicated and sent it a short 4-note MIDI file, and it turned out the same way. Has Verizon changed the way MIDI files sent as attachments are handled when sending them to the phone?

You can upload mp3 ringtones with 3gupload.com's personal files. It will work with most of the verizon phones, even the LG-VX6000. Just upload an mp3 and it will convert it for your phone and send the tone via a pix message.

OK, what exactly is the Wal Mart method? Sorry for sounding like a newb. I have a subscription to 3gupload, but when i try to upload an mp3, it says that my phone doesn't support that file type.
So I guess I'll do more research, after I try the Wal Mart method. So if someone can tell me what the wal mart method is, I'd appreciate it.
