Go to walmart.com then to music section search for favorite artist or song then it will if you want play a 30 sec clip for you. All you have to do is right click on song you want then click "save as target" then rename whatever.mid. Then use your email and send it to your phone using area code number@vzwpix.com. Once it arrives play it save it as ringtone and whala it is now a ringtone. Still mp3 but works around verizon filter.

I tried the Wal-Mart method, but they came out pretty fuzzy, and staticy. I then got Goldwave and trimmed a couple of songs down to under 30secs, and they have all kinds of things to clean the songs up. I then used 3gupload.com to upload it there, then e-mail it to my phone. It worked like a charm. Also, from doing it this way, I could use ANY song, not just the ones from Wal-Mart.com.

Anybody know if a vx4400 is simply incapable of downloading attachments from the vzwpix emails? I tried sending a midi file to my phone and I got a message telling me to go to vzwpix.com, and when I try to hit "download object" it says "service is unavailable at this time." I tried to send a small jpg file to see if maybe it was a problem with the file and I got the same results.
If anyone has any advice or information, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

Are u uploading mp3s to your a670? Cuz when i tried to upload a 29 second one to 3gupload it says it wont accept it, even though right underneath it states "Your Samsung SCH-A670 supports the following upload file formats: gif, jpg, png, midi, bmp, mp3". So i tried uploading a midi, which was successful. However, I dont understand how to get it on my phone. I don't have internet on my phone, so how do u have 3gupload send u the file through text message? Thanks
p.s
I wrote verizon about the midi problems with their site and they responded:
"We apologize but recent changes to Pix Place removed the ability to
upload and send MIDI files. This change was implemented to protect against
piracy, in the form of illegal digital files containing music or ring
tones being distributed illegally. We apologize for any inconveience and
will submit the corrections to the FAQ to our website team."
Could the reason for the fuzzy ringtones be to deter those trying to upload through email?

Is the max file size 30k or something? I tried the "wal mart trick" on my Samsung A670, and the message shows up as new, but it can't retrieve it... and it says the size is 30k, when the file I sent is about 200k. And it fails when I try to receive (download) the attachment.

Oh well, that answers my question about MIDI files not being processed properly. It kinda sucks, I actually used that ability to make my own custom ringtones (not of copyrighted music) and send them to my phone. Now I can't do that anymore, at least not until I buy a PC link cable for my phone.

Is the process the same for other brands of phones like Siemens do you know? If so....wouldn't this be possible to do at other websites that let you listen to preview clips.......????
