hey-

does anyone know if its possible to create your own ringtones and then load them onto any of the verizon phones? is it possible to take an mp3 then chop it up and transform it into a format that can be used as a ringtone? how do you get it on the phone??

im looking to get a new phone for my verizon plan, and im just wondering if i can do this with any of their phones.

thanks!!

so is there anyway to get games on the nokia 3589i without having to use "get it now"{which is a ripoff} we own this peice of equipment so we should be able to do with it what we want !!! but it seems like verizons greed has no bounds thats why people create programs that turn demo apps to full version apps[ex. .mif unlocker]. they want us to use get it now so they can charge triple what ringtones and games are worth !!! doesn't anyone else see how unfair verizon is by not allowing their customers to put whatever the customer wants on his\her phone. what about people who create their own tones and games who want to put them on their phone. they are royally screwed !!!
SO IF ANYONE HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO GET GAMES ON THE PHONE AND TO WORK PLEASE POST IT FOR ALL OF US WHO ARE STUCK WITH A GREEDY CARRIER !!!

Yes, you can send yourself free ring tones, at least to the VX6000. You can use any MIDI file as a ringtone. Unfortunately the VX6000 doesn't play MP3s ("real music" ringtones) so you are stuck with polyphonic MIDI. But if you search the web, you can find lots of cool midi files. Then you just send it to your phone as an attachment and save the midi file. You may have to use the vzwpix.com address rather than vtext.com for the attachment to go through, I'm not sure.

BTW, the same goes for wallpapers. You can send just about any JPG file to your phone and save it as your wallpaper. You DO need to use your vzwpix.com address (I just tested) so the same probably holds true for MIDI files.

As for games, unfortunately I don't know but I would like to find out!

I just got a CDM-9900 and I am interested in emailing myself some new ringtones. I had heard the LG VX6000 had the capability from the mobilepedia review to just rename a mp3 file 2 a midi and then send to the phone. So far I have been unsuccessful directly deleting the .mp3 and changing to .mid and then emailing to my vwpix.com #.

Any information would be helpful..
