Will not work with an iRDA cable. Works only with Serial Cable. You can't flash your phone with an iRDA cable. Try to get a serial one. After that you have need to download your firmware version (or another one, compatible), extract files from the archieve, edit *.bin file save and send it to your phone.

hi januka

I am new to this. just to confirm, I need

- serial cable connected to my phone
- download your modding software
- when to power up / off the phone ?
- need to backup the firmware first and how ?
- follow thru the process of editing
- flash the firmware after editing ?

can i replace default melodies with my own ringtones ?
thnx for a great piece of software

Serial/ USB Cable Connected to phone and installed/tested on computer
A modding software (Samsung DIY will also work)
Phone power remains off until you flash in which case you depress the on/off button when prompted
Use optiflash 3.6 and press backup with a proper path and name set in settings
Exactly... see a site for various methods of editing such as the Januka or Samsung DIY site
Again, use optiflash, but choose the file you create while modding and flash for this process

Default melodies are easily replaced, and a good starting point for beginners.
The second step would be to try editing text labels
And once you master that, move on to pictures, as they tend to be more tedious and a little more complicated.

Good luck. Contact me if you need any extra help doing all this.
