I am completely unfamiliar with cell phone technology, but I need some help and didn't know where else to go.
I accidentally submersed my Samsung SGH-e317 underwater in a river last weekend. It was only for about 5 - 10 seconds, and when I realized that it happened I dried it off immediately with a towel. I opened it up and it still worked!
However, I foolishly left it on the towel with the battery attached and the power on and came back in about 10 minutes to find it vibrating non-stop and the display was blank. The water must have worked it's way in somehow.
I removed the battery and let it dry for a few days until the moisture had finally disappeared from the LCD display. When I powered it up this time, everything seems to work okay, but the display has shifted down to the bottom of the screen. You can only see the signal and battery image, and the word "Cingular". Everything else is off the bottom of the screen.
Does anyone have any suggestions or tricks to move the display back up to where it's supposed to be?
