I am trying to configure the EMAIL MSG SETUP in the Messaging area without any success. My provider is SBC YAHOO DSL. Please keep in mind that I have an unlocked CINGULAR phone, using my Tmobile service and I am wondering if there are additional changes that will need to be made. I've already configured everything else from WAP, Text messaging, MMS messaging.

I have my setup as follows:

ISP setting: CSD (This part is where I am confused about)
Now on this part is where I am having issues, when I click on this option I get the settings at the VERY BOTTOM of this page so please read ALL the WAY DOWN!!!!

Email provider: Custom

Protocol: POP3

User ID: user@sbcglobal.net (i did put in my REAL userID name)

Password: *******

Sending host: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

Sending port: 25

Receiving host: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

REceiving port: 100

Return address:

Notificaiton: on

Check new messages: no

Hide fields:

Auto Signature: my name

Security:

Size restrictions: 10240

ISP settings

all of those settings are correct, however, you will need to configure the isp settings for tmobile. I would suggest that for email you would want to use gprs. The settings should be the same as for the wap. if you need anymore help on that pm me, i am also from the stl area

What do the Username and Password refer to? Do they want me to repeat the info for my SBC account? like in the first section or do they want me to use my Username and Password for when i log onto to Tmobile.com?

i went on Tmobile.com last night and went thru on my TZONES prefrences(Tmobile WAP) and they have an option called POP settings. I went on there and registered my SBC Yahoo account. The following information was provided by the site that is in quotations. Hopefully this will help me configure my phone correctly.

Please use the following informaiton to configure mobile access from your standard email client.

Email Address: username@sbcglobal.net

Mail Server (POP3): myemail.t-mobile.com

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): myemail.t-mobile.com

User ID: myphonenumber:1 (for example 3141234567:1)

Password: put n password"

now the following are the T-Zones settings Configuration Requirements

Primary IP address: 216.155.165.050

Secondary IP address: Blank

APN Name: wap.voicestream.com

Data Bearer: GPRS

Profile Name: GPRS

Username: Blank

Bearer: Data

Home page: http://wap.myvoicestream.com

ok, lets try this over, your original settings for the email were correct, the only thing incorrect was your wap settings for it:
this is correct:
Email provider: Custom
Protocol: POP3
User ID: user@sbcglobal.net (i did put in my REAL userID name)
Password: *******
Sending host: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
Sending port: 25
Receiving host: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
REceiving port: 100
Return address:
Name: my name
Cleanup: NONE
Save on server: yes
Notificaiton: on
Check new messages: no
Hide fields:
Auto Signature: my name
Security:
Size restrictions: 10240
-----------------------------------------------------
now the isp setting should be gprs and according to what you put in your last post this is what they should be for tmobile:
connection type: GPRS
APN Address: wap.voicestream.com
username: myphonenumber:1 (for example 3141234567:1)
password: whatever your password is
dns ip: (try leaving this blank or 0.0.0.0)
----------------------------------------------------------
This should solve your problem, the pop3 settings are correct since i work for sbc. The only thing that may be incorrect is your isp settings for tmobile, i just put in the info that you provided. Hope this solves your problem

You can connect using CSD to your SBC/Yahoo! directly, without using T-Mobile to access same. Your initial configuration (beloe) is correct, but the problem is that you failed to include a SBC/Yahoo! "Dial-Up Number" and your SBC username and password. CSD requires a "Dial-Up" number as it allows the mobile phone to access the internet, POP3, etc. servers by using the phone's modem -- just like a PC using a dialup modem rather than DSL.

CSD through SBC/Yahoo is free, provided you call on your T-Mobile free nights/weekend minutes.
