The 8310 has a lot of bugs.
U could probably go to a Nokia Centre to try and get it fixed.
It could be sum f/w bug or mebbe even a hardware problem.
Has this problem started after u plugged in a headset?
I mean, it could happen after u in that headset a bit too hard.
Going to a service centre is probably the best option.

Dear All,
I have similar problem too when I was using my 8210 a few years back. After checking with some experts, it finally came to an understanding that the bottom of the phone is loosen. When there is this "headset" appearing, just press hard on the bottom of the phone and the 'headset' will disappear.
This all happened because you are probably using a non original Nokia headset which after sometime will damage the phone. I bought a compatible Nokia headset for less than USD2 but an original Nokia headset for 8210 costed over USD30. From that day onwards, I never used non-original Nokia handset anymore.
So that is why this problem appear. Hope this helps.

I recently had this problem on a Nokia. There was a little corrosion on the edge of the headset contacts on the bottom of the phone. Cleaned the contacts with a pencil eraser followed with a toothbrush, alcohol, and a Q-tip and it seems to have fixed it.
