I used to have the same problem too last time... But then I changed my LCD to a new one (free if your phone is still under warranty) and I upgraded my software from V4.18 to V4.28... Once I did this my problem was solved!!! Maybe you guys could try it too...

Neothematrix, I think that it's cause frequency  so that you can't see flickering on dark backgrounds! ya, may be it's cause frequency, voltage is higher and it it has higher radiation and it spoils our displays I've not another sim card at this moment, I'll try later!!!

it's very strange that changing the display will avoid this issue...cause all the 6610/7210 i have seen, have this problem...
also i noticed the display is flikering more after a long call...

the flickering has sth to do with the battery i think... i notice that every time i do sth that uses a lot of battery power the flicker thing happens. For my phone the fastest way to fix this is to switch it off then on again

yep if i switch off the phone and switch on immediatly after the problem disappears, but even if i dont switch the phone off it disappears in 20 seconds or less...
@andrewlimkn: of course i have it  but is too dark to be a background, i cant read anything on the display using that background actualli i'm using the picture took from Ice Age

Neothematrix, you are lucky!!! I thought that your phone is flickering all time, unfortunately for me, mine yes!!! but before it hadn't flickered, only for sime time after long call, or scrolling in games and Gallery, but after 20 seconds in became normal, but mine is flickering all time

in fact it flickers every time, I can notice this using a light blue wallpaper ( like tropical island ), but after I play or make long calls I can notice this more
