Since the post. The V600 is just not user friendly at all. I have literally put it away because of this. The SE Z600 you can use, dial, navigate menus all with one hand. The V600 you push a key of menu once nothing happens, click again and you skip two places. So now you have to navigate back. 70-80% of the time everything is twice as many clicks as the Z600.
Get the Z600. I've emailed Motorola about how the V600 is just not up to the competition of Sony Ericsson or Nokia. no where near it.
Get the Z600. You'll love it. The size between the two is not all that different. The Z600 is SO much less weight than the V600.

Hope this helps a little.
...you don't know how happy i am when someone gives me a reply. I read your post and i think it is awesome. By the way, do you know if the Z600 has the Picture Caller ID? Where if someone calls you, the picture of the caller and the number shows up. Does the Z600 do that?

When it comes to calmshells, only two phones spring instantly into the memory, viz.,
SE Z600 and Sam E710. Go for one of these and u won't repent.

@jemo
There is no doubt that the V600 is probably one of the best phones from Motorola ever. However, the main drawback is the limited memory (it's 5-6MB if I am not mistaken). For a phone with high end capabilities, this is ludicrous. Therefore, I give my vote to the Z600 which has the appropriate amount of memory considering the feature list.
Another brilliant Moto phone is the V303.

Yes it has picture caller ID. I also use the voice control and assign voices to people's number to call. The thing that I love is when my phone is on vibrate and I get a call from my dad, I hear my voice say "dad" before it vibrates the first time. Or anyone else I have in my contacts with my voce assigned to it.
Awesome phone.

oh mang, this phone is awesome...z600 is crazy!!!!
i am loving everything, the screen is alright...it is brighter than the t610...but not as bright as the t630 or the moto v600...not what i expected...but the functions and the feel is absolutely amazing...everything locks in place when you open the z600...
