I've been struggling with this one for a few days... I'm trying to use my S105 as a modem for my Compaq IPAQ using IrDA, connecting through T-Mobile USA and GPRS. I've done everything I can think of (and I can think of a LOT), but no go. The Pocket PC makes IR contact and says that it's dialing (I've tried several variations of *99#), but it just times out after about 30 seconds. The phone works well as a modem using EasyGPRS on my laptop, so it's clearly possible.
Has anyone managed this?

yeah i had the same problem, by default the dialiing options on ur pocketpc do not dial local, and have a bunch of other crap that's dialed first.
to fix this, go to dialing locations -> dialing patterns. i then copied teh long distance settings into the local settings, so it says '1FG'
that shoudl be it, and u should get it to work. when it starts to dial, u will seel the number pop up on ur phone's screen too. this shoudl take only a few seconds.
hope that works, this was for the pocket pc 2002 OS btw. hope that helps though, but yeah i don't think it's ur phone, i think it's the ppc settings. good luck!

Thanks, but that's not it... the dialing pattern is set to "G", so that it dials only the dialing string (I'm using *99#). The correct number pops up on the IPAQ screen, there's a little IR activity on the phone... then the connection drops with no messages, just a a "going down" chime from the IPAQ. I'm open to further suggestions!
