Hi guys,
My first post to the forum, although have been following for a while. Shame it has to be a sad one
Decided to have a go with this XP look fw from the fw thread, so backed up my old fw with dumper and then erased flash. Thing is, now it wont do anything. When i try to flash the phone in downloader all i get is an error message saying
COMMAND : Bad command acknowledge
and on occasion:
COMMAND : Command error
So i have a dead phone right now and am not quite sure where to go from here.
Any ideas what might be causing this ?
Thanks for your help in advance,
Dave

I don't know if its gonna work but try this:
- Remove the cable and battery
- Also close Downloader
- Than start downloader, select com port, select a speed, select BIN&NAND, than open the files.
- Connect the cable with your phone (with battery) and click on START.

Hey, thanks for the quick response.
It gets as far as identifying the flash (type KBB05A300_TOP) then freezes for a bit, then gives the error "Bad Command Acknowledge".
This is really frustrating. Im not sure where to go from here.[/quote]

Youre going to think im pretty stupid.
Its only a cheapo ebay one - do you think this might be it?
Thing is, the backup worked ok, as did the erase so assumed it would be ok.
Will try higher speed unless you think im wasting both our times?
Is the cable the problem?

It could be the cable. But still try the Speed thing. Is the cable USB or Serial?
