Oops maybe I should have asked, is there any danger in flashing. For example, what would happen if the cable stuffs up while the firmware is being flashed. Any chance of ending up with a phone with stuffed up firmware?

If you(r):
- Remove the cable;
- Remove the battery;
- Shake the phone;
- Turn off your computer;
- Computer starts hibernating
While flashing and your flash fails remove the phones battery put it back afer 2 secs and reflash your phone.

As far as flashing is concerned, I have a USB cable for the phone but I read in one of the forums here that I need a SERIAL cable for flashing.....I thiought both were the same...no?
hope someone can clear that up for me.....and if I wanna replace the startup screen will it effect the entire phone (menus and all)???
Thnx....

The USB cable does flash your phone but its not always so easy to setup as a Serial cable. If change the sartup screen good the phone will start if not the phone will not turn on or you will have some square pictures and you will have to reflash it.
