Hi,
I've searched many forums for the answer to this: How can I get the USB cable I bought from http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3089839102&category =35210&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWN%3AIT&rd=1 to work with Easy GPRS with a s307.
I have tried com ports 1,2,3,4,9.. and that is in combination of changing the Easy GPRS Modem to those same com ports and selecting it under Easy GPRS setup. I've tried different USB ports on my comp. Unplugging the phone from cable at different times as well as starting up Easy GPRS at different times. I've also tried rebooting many times. I've downloaded different versions of Easy GPRS 2.1.6. and 2.1.8..
Do you think I have a bum cable? Let me know if you have any idea how to make my USB cable to work with EAsy GPRS.
Thank you.

Does your cable simulates a Com Port?

As far as I can see it tries to simulate. In the ports section in Device Manager, it reads:
Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (Com3)
In EasyGPRS, the program stays in "Offline", and my phone does not charge.
Is there any way I can test this simulation through another program, because maybe it's a problem with EasyGPRS.
Thanks for your suggestions.
PS. In the control panel for Phones/Modems, when I select the EasyGPRS Modem (Com3), and try to Query it under the diagnostics tab, is it supposed to work? Because I get an error about the modem failed to respond, verifiy it is turned on, or if its internal verify that the interrupt properly setup for the port.

I was having the same problem with my x427 and Easy GPRS. In my case the cable was denoted on the device manager as Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM 4). I went into setup and changed the Comm port to 4 and still did not have any joy. However, I then exited the program and started up the program again and it found the X427 and started pulling data from the phone. Joy!
