BT ain't faster. The fastest way is still a MMC reader.

The 6610 works with the DKU-5 cable, the 6230 with the DKU-2 cable.

The DKU-5 is much slower than the DKU-2 and is not a true USB-Cable.
It can be connected trough USB, but it creates a virtual port for connecting.
The DKU-2 can use the full USB (1.1) bandwidth.
To make it clear: these cables are not interchangeable. You can connect them, but the phone will show "Enhancement not supported" and it won't work.

Hmmmm....so is it possible that i transfer a pic to 6230 thru the usb cable and then transfer the pic thru IR from 6230 to 6610??
I read smwhere that the earlier series 40 phones would receive data thru IR of other phones...is that correct

Nope. The 6610 can only send and receive contacts.
