This my review based on my short duration ( bought it last month-april ) using it:

1. The casing of the phone doesn't fits perfectly. Meaning they are not flush together nicely. I don't know if this is the case with other units but mine does. COME ON NOKIA, WHERE'S THE QUALITY HUH?
2. It's small, although not as small as 8310.
3. Nice screen. TFT LCD
4. Using MMC drains battery. Caution: MY OPINION ONLY. Enabling bluetooth definitely drains power. I'm using bluetooth handsfree, so i know.I also suspect that the screen also uses a lot of juice.
5. Ringing tone & message tone too slow. ( Maybe my unit only, still can't get any workaround the problem other than using MP3 as ringing & message tone). shish. <---NOKIA NOTE THIS
6. If you want to use loudspeaker for mediaplayer, plug in handsfree and only after that the loudspeaker option can be activated. <---NOKIA NOTE THIS
7. You can still install games and apps as long that they're written in JAVA, repeat JAVA ONLY. Symbian is the better deal though cause you can theoritically install PDA apps.
8. Image quality is so-so, some say s_ _ ks ( picky dudes ). Got three settings: landscape, potrait and night mode.
9. Polyphonic sound quality so-so, Samsung the best ( 20 or 24 tones for Nokia VS 40 on Samsung ).
10. Menu is standard Nokia affair, with option to organize it by grid or list. By grid means it is displayed much like your desktop icons whereas list is ... a list. Like standard menu, up-down scroll.

Ok, that's about enough.
You may want to ask me whether i have any regrets buying it. The answer is no and yes. No on the features of the phone, Yes on the errr... built quality ( mainly, it's kinda flimsy icon_mad.gif ). Why do i bought it ? Brand name, familiarity with Nokia menus maybe, but the short answer is : I NEED A NEW PHONE. icon_devil.gif

Actually, i don't quite agree with mkamal, i personally think the N6230 is one of Niokia's BETTER phones.

1) Casing is perfectly fine! I actually like the sleek black sexy case. Though yes, my back cover is slightly loose but thats normal due to how much i tend to open and close it. (Either changing GSM chips, MMC card or just reflex action). icon_razz.gif

2+3) The screen isn't tiny. Its a standard 128x128 which is fine for its size. What do u want? A SE P900 screen on a phone like that? icon_twisted.gif

4) Using the MMC doesn't drain the battery. Playing music/video etc.. does slightly and obviosuly, so does bluetooth but i can still fit in around 18-20 hours with radio and bluetooth on.

5) "ringing tone & message too SLOW" <--- WHAT?? icon_question.gif

6) " If you want to use loudspeaker for mediaplayer, plug in handsfree and only after that the loudspeaker option can be activated." <-- That's a load of crap. The media player works fine in loudspeaker mode without any handsfree connected. Its the radio that needs the handsfree as it uses the cable as an external antenna. icon_twisted.gif

7) Yes that's true, its a Series 40 phone with no Synbian therefore = it isn't made to support .SIS files! icon_twisted.gif

icon_cool.gif Image quality is fine. The video lacks a little while images are fine. When uploaded to a PC, they're fine quality.

9) You can place your polyphonice ringtones in 'TONES' and use them from there!!!! Duh! I've got 92 polyphonic ringtones at the moment. I don't see where the '20-24' limit s?! icon_question.gif

10) Yes, its a Series 40 phone withOUT Symbian OS, so it has a standard Nokia menu style.

All i can say to this is: STFU! icon_devil.gif

I can swear my phoen off that you DONT own a N6230.

If u did, u wouldn't say the features are bad as it's one of the ONLY Nokia phones that has EVERYTHING.
Check out phone features here: http://www.mobiledia.com/specs/nokia/index.html
You will see it has ALL 6 green checks, unlike all teh other Nokias.

No, its not flimsy at all, as i mentioned, its nice and sleek.

As for the "I NEED A NEW PHONE" ... that just means u consider the N6230 as a piece of junk therefore i consider YOU as a piece of junk.

Go buy a 1110, should suit u best.

He means the capability of voices.

The 6230 can "only" play 24 voices at once, while Samsung can play 40 at once... but show me please one midi which has more than 24 voices at once... you won't find one... most don't have more than 20 and those who have more than 20 won't use all 20 at once. So this discussion about the voices is stupid, the maximum of 16 voices at once are fully enough in my opinion.

The difference is the synthesizer they use. Motorola phones have nice synthesizers, but the phones are crap.

And disappointed with the 6230??? What the hell do you expected? That the phone can beam you from place to place? It's the best phone at the moment in my opinion.

Dead pixels are the part of ur display screen that remains fixed in color...they r usuually at the corners.....If u change the wallpaper of ur phone or open up meny..the dead pixels color wont change with the background....they r hard to detect.....so better be carefull
