Do you still need help with the MMS settings? If so, reply back with your email.

I just got my Nokia 3108 today and even had Cingular transfer my existing 3360 number onto a SIM card BUT the Nokia 3108 model gives me a message that there is no service available and currenty, I cannot use my phone b/c my # is on the SIM card, but my existing phone doesn't take SIM, AND the new 3108 I have is not getting service. What settings do I have to have in order for the phone to work with Cingular?

I went through the same problem!!! I went from AT&T to Cingular. I regret the day i did. Anyhow, what you have to do is call up Customer Service which is horrible, then go to the store and they'll give you a new sim, and it should be up and running. Make sure you don't go to an Agent store, because they charge you $50, if you go to a normal non agent Cingular store it will be free. Please keep me updated. Customer service is horrible!

I have setup phones from Tmobile Orange ATT all to work with Cingular. Everything works GPRS MMS etc. I can even check my Earthlink email from my cells.

Get the APN, user name and password info from your provider, and have
your GPRS account activated.
For cingular users
APN: wap.cingular
USER: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
pWORD: CINGULAR1 (PAY ATTENTION TO LOWER/UPPER CASE)
Go to
>settings
>connections
>connections
>select "new"
>select "Cellular line GPRS"
>it will ask you APN
say connect.
Then it will ask user name and password. That's it.

Cellfreek,
Thanks for the info on Cingular settings, it helped me get my new Motorola V551 setup for email. Several calls to Cingular and even Motorola were of no help at all. Your info, a little logic and some common sense worked!

First, make sure your line is provisioned (setup) for MMS messages - there are OTA update(s) that need to be received in order for your phone to accept MMS.
Second, you can only receive MMS's from Cingular and ATT subscribers - there are no other MMS sharing agreements yet (though there is a lot of talk about it - could be a huge money maker for the providers).
