HI

1.

If anyone out there could help me i wood be very grateful, iv been trying to get this to work for days and im just not getting any where with it. Right im trying to connect my nokia 6600 to the nokia PC Suite that came with the phone. Im trying to connect the phone to the suite var Bluetooth and it just won’t connect.

I keep getting a message saying

The Bluetooth Serial Port connection failed: The remote device closed the connection

iv tried selecting all the ports in mRouter and it try's to connect but gives the above message. But if i try to send a picture just by right clicking on it, it sends that to the phone with no problem. Im using Xp Pro and the version of the Nokia Suite is 1.0.0

2.

in all my other nokia phones iv had in the past when someone wood send me a text message it wood say who its from, as long as they are stored in your phone as one of your contacts. now all my contacts are stored on my phone or MC and every time I get a text message its not saying who its from all its showing is the number where it came from and the message. now the contact is in my phone so I cant understand why its not saying the person's name where the message came from

3.

iv sent mp3 files to the phone with bluetooth but they get saved into the incomeing message box and you cant seem to move them any where else so im trying to find out where in the phone they get saved to because if i could find the incomeing folder i could copy the files somewhere else with FExplorer

Any help what so ever wood be most helpful

Thanks for your time

1 - I don't use PC Suite because I have the MA-620 IrDA USB and it doesn't find my phone with the Mrouter. Moreover I haven't a Bluetooth dongle. So,sorry! icon_redface.gif

2 - Works well for me, even if the names are in Phone or in MMC (MMC for me); maybe a prob with the phone itself or your service provider icon_question.gif

3 - All the received files are in C/System/Mail/ etc...

But if you use FExplorer, just search for MP3 files! it'll be the simplest way instead of searching for the files in the numerous folders of "Mail"! It'll be very long too, in the two way, to cut the file from a directory and to paste it in another.

@ Jay321,

2. Does this happen for all numbers or just a few? Also does this happen for calls too?
If yes, then check with ur service provider if u have caller id enabled.
Else, i'd recommend tryin a plain reset(not the deep reset) of the fone's mem. This will restore all original files of the phone mem w/o harming any other installed apps.

3. All recieved files are in C:/system/mail/
I'd recommed moving messaging over to mmc, as then u will get more space to save mp3s.

@ wieghert,

Dude wat os r u using? I use MA-620 and it works perfectly well.

I'm running under WinXP Pro. And the MA-620 is plugged in a USB Hub (maybe this can be an issue too; never try to put it on a normal USB port...)

Read somewhere that some 6600 have probs with IrDA for connection with Pc Suite.

Anyway, tell me how you've installed the stuffs (wich before and wich after) and I'll try it.
A very dumb thing, Pc Suite works well for my 7210 and 8210, maybe should I uninstall these versions icon_question.gif

Try using SeleQ for the inbox problem. It has the feature of the "Copy inbox" command which automatically copies all files in your inbox and you only have got to paste them.

It happens to all most every number but what is really strange is there are a few numbers that will show the name of the person who is texting me. When someone rings me that’s ok it shows the number and the picture with no problem

@ Jay,
Check again with ur provider if u have caller id enabled.

@ weighert,

Mebbe having 2 PC Suites is the problem. ? Or so, did u manually select infrared thru Mrouter?

iv had the same sim card for the last 3 years and on all my other nokia phones the name of the person came up when i got a text message. so im guessing its a problem with the phone.

I'll try remove Pc Suite for my 7210 and reinstall the one for the 6600.
But as Jay said it before, even if Pc Suite doesn't work, i can send files to the 6600 when doing right click and Send to.

Same problem but with a different connection, quite funny... icon_biggrin.gif

In another post I've seen that you have copy the contacts, maybe you can try to type them manually, one by one. Try this, hope it'll works. Because if it's your second 6600 and the servce provider says that all is ok... icon_wink.gif
