I'm having the same dilemma with cingular reception in my building. Today my phone automatically switched over to AT&T with full reception when Cingular had 1 bar, only if I took it the phone out of my pocket. My question is will I be charged for being on AT&Ts network while being in a cingular area or has the merger eliminated these charges between the carriers? I have a regional plan. Thanks!

It will not make a difference who's network your phone chooses. Enjoy the benefits of redundant networks. They are agressively working on load balancing the two networks, to ensure the most calls get through to the most subscribers, and that people are able to place good-quality calls.

I think they're going to go after Verizon in a big way in this respect. Supposedely there are new SIM cards coming out that will [I don't know the technical details on this one] determine which of the networks has less "load" on it, and choose that one.

I don't know about anyone else, but I haven't had any trouble what-so-ever with the newcingular.

NOt sure if this is cause by the merge, but my V600 roam icon has been visible on and off these past days. I hope I am not getting roam charge as I am still within my region.

That's good to hear. I was afraid for a moment that I would be hit with 80cent/min roaming charges. Thank you for your help!

I haven't had any problems either and no problems when my phone switches between cingular and ATT. Cool thing about it is that my friends that i call that have ATT are now using mobile to mobile minutes. Now I really have a hard time using my anytime minutes.

Here's a dumb question... What are you going to do with a W-CDMA phone when only three markets have it? Worse, Nokia doesn't have a quad band phone yet, so you're relegated to 1900 mhz only - which is pretty weak.

Why not get the RAZR? I could get one discounted off the website price of $499, and all the reviews have been awesome! I'm personally going to hold out for the V635 due 2Q 2005 (same form factor as the V300/400/500/600), as I already have a car kit that fits both my wife and my phone's.

To answer your question - it looks like the 6630 may have shipped on November 2nd, but most of the sites in the UK are taking pre-orders still - maybe it didn't ship on time... Are you ware if any of the US carriers will be selling it?

I doubt any US carriers will carry 6630, for main reason, most people are just too dumb to want such a sophisacated phone, but according to nokia the phones is out, and i want one, not really cus i will even be using cdma, but for bragging privleges, and i hear the thing has some awsum hardware upgrades from 6620, i head 32 mb Flash, so on....Oh uya and reson i dont want razr v3, is cus of motorolas peice of sh** operating system.
