hey,
i havnt had my t300 very long and i was wondering since i havnt got a data cable just yet and my pc doesnt seem to have an if port, if there is a way of sending data to your phone some other way, im sure this question has been asked and i just wanted to make it clear
im sure youve all seen the sites which charge you like £4.50 to get a poly ringtone sent to your phone, well they usually come through texts,
what im trying to say is, is there a sms program that can send these kind of data and .mid files to your phone via sms?
i will eventually get a data cable unless there is some other way of doing this?
thanks

For poly ringtones, I simply search the Internet for the song as a Midi file and IR'd it over using my Notebook or Pocket PC.

BTW, Gif's 101 x 80 (I think that is size) can be IR'd over and used as backgrounds. You can find some free thumbnail generators to resize the picture. Also, using my Pocket PC, I was able to IR my contacts over so I didn't have to enter them by hand. That is all I have been able to find so far that can be IR'd.

The T300 accepts many file types. Static and animated GIF's as background and screensaver, MIDI files as polyphonic ringtones, IMY iMelody files for regular ringtones, themes, MMS templates, etc.

To the poster above me, I can confirm that my Palm will beam to the T310 without additional software - just use the built in beam function. I can even beam addressed and entire address book categories! The phone even retains the work, home, and mobile phone numbers for each contact! Wow!
I am not sure if other phones are compatible with the Palm for beaming. If not, then I guess Sony wanted to make sure that their phone was compatible with their CLIE (Sony brand PDA with mildly customised PALM OS).

I found a way of downloading Polyphonic ringtones via WAP without paying... some kind of hack:
1)go to www.matrixm.com using Opera (this is the easiest way)
2)choose a POLYPHONIC ringtone, and click "play"
3) a window will popup, click "click here for a fix", you'll be able to save the MIDI file in your pc.
4)Then, using an FTP client, upload the file to your site (e.g. www.iespana.es ; users.lycos.com)
5) using your cellphone, write the FULL URL of where the MIDI file is located (example: http://esserrano.iespana.es/TBP.mid)
6) save it!!
