hi
i am plannin to purchase a nokia 6230 in singapore....i need to know if a phone with EGSM 900 1800/1900 GSM bands will work in India ..where the networks only support GSM 900..i.e (pardon the ignorance ) but do EGSM phones work on normal GSM networks
Secondly i heard there are a lot of bugs in the 6230 ..have these been fixed?..
Thirdly....is it 6230 or 6600..which is a better buy??

Any triband fone that supports 900/1800/1900 mhz band will work in India.
Most of the bugs that were found in the 6230 now have fixes(for eg the caller id bug, which is removed by resetting the fone to defaults)

yes it will work. it is being sold in india at a price higher than that of the 6600. theres already a discussion going on about 6230 vs. 6600.

Dont bother buyin it with warranty if ur plannin to use it in india. International warranty is null and void here. It'll just be another gray market fone.

The Nokia 6230 is a tri-band phone so it WILL work in India.
