ive had my SE t300 for about a month now and i love every aspect of it, some parts not so much. (color pix) The phone is well-rounded and feature PACKED that i couldnt ask for anything more, but there is something that weirds me.
The top right part of the t300 has an LED light that i have no idea wth its for. I personally think its pretty cool if theres some way to turn it on (like service light so u can check ur service in the dark w/o touching the phone) and utilize it for something constructive (also like it may flash when u receive txt msgs.) So far ive only seen the sucker in action when the phone is off and its charging. Please dont tell me thats all its for.
If theres anyone who knows about this or anyone who feels the same way i do, I'd really like to hear your thoughts n opinions.
Thanks

I have always thought the same thing. I did some reviewing on this site and found a post on an old thread; it was up about a month ago.

I wish we could do more, but a well.

The LEDs lights or flashes when you are connected with your provider.
If you aren't connected with any mobilephone-cell, the LED will not light.
So go 50 feets under the ground and look at your display + LED
(And I don't mean subways...the usally have antennas installed).

Mine never lights up regardless of my connection strength. There must be something different here in the States. Maybe it is something the provider needs to broadcast. Or maybe it is the fact that we have multiple different types of broadcast signals here. O well, I guess I will never see it light up regularly.

Then I suggest to remove the LED and put a cigarette lighter into the hole
Edit: Choose the ringtone "funky"...It should flash now.

The T300's LED is a battery level and charging indicator light. It's not a service availability light like on the T68. But you can control it using the LED function in an imelody.
