Get the best you can for the budget you've got icon_biggrin.gif

Get a AMD Athlon XP 2000+ with 512 MB RAM, a HighEnd GeForce4 (or a compareable Radeon; GF FX ain't that necessary and for sure no MX version) with about 80 GB HDD. But be sure to get a Creative soundcard icon_biggrin.gif they rock.
Should be around 21.000 INR (cheaper as used computer - based on german prices icon_biggrin.gif)

The described system is close to mine and mine is running fine icon_biggrin.gif

(Post No. 1500 - cheers! icon_cool.gif )

Instead of the outdated Athlon XP 2000+, get a Athlone XP 2600+ (FSB: 266Mhz). The latest price at Lammy is 4600 Rs. Other specs remain the same as Bjoerns.

Normal 32bit. I won't get a 64bit system at the moment. To expensive and most software can't use the complete features of the 64bit.

For the processor: the Athlon XP 2600+ with FSB 266 are rare... so in germany... used ones are costlier than a new 2600+ with FSB 333.

64 bit AMD processors are available at Lamington Road for approx. 25000/- Rs. (Athlon FX51, if I am not mistaken).
