It seems certain .co.uk webspace won't allow e access, so here's the way I've bypassed it...
Create a yahoo briefcase, so you can store upto 5mb online.
Edit your mp3 to a 30 second clip, around 250kb
Upload it to the briefcase.
Copy the url and paste it into an e-mail.
Send the e-mail to yourself, and pick it up on your phone.
Click GOTO on the url, and it's a go go!
Works for tones, clips, pictures... it's all good.
Bit of a run around, but it's free, and not so slow.

I have a V600, data cable bought off ebay (actually for my T720 but works with the V600 too), and Mobile PhoneTools v2.20. I can transfer pictures, movies and MP3's to/from the phone just fine. I can select the pictures as wallpaper and the MP3's as ringtones, just fine.

I use Creative Wave Studio (which was bundled with my Audigy2) to make the mp3s, and I bought a Linksys BT adapter. Works great. I have a cable coming from eBay, I think the only way to install games is via cable.

Hi all,
I have a bluetooth dongle and use mp3 cutter (trial - which is limited to 60 seconds use, but who needs longer ) to clip mp3 tones. I also use just the windows xp bluetooth program.
Here is how I do it, hope it will work with yours too:
1. Uninstall Blue Manager software completely and any other Bluetooth software you may have.
2. Restart the computer (remember to unplug the blue from the usb port)
4. Install the MSI Software and restart your computer.
5. Go to C:\Program Files\Microstar\Bluetooth Software\bin\btwusb.inf
6. Open that file with notepad and edit the following line. Use the "edit" > "replace" option and copy the entries below to the find / replace fields within notepad. Select "replace all"
Find "VID_0DB0&PID_1967" and replace with " VID_0a12&PID_0001"
Find "VID_0DB0&PID_ffff" and replace with "VID_0a12&PID_ffff"
***There are two instances of each of them so change them all. These entries are to allow windows to detect the blue monkey device that you plugged in.
7. Save the file and plug in your blue monkey into the USB port and the system will try to find a driver file.
8. The add hardware screen should appear and select search in this location ( dont select removable media, etc. Tell the driver wizard to select C:\Program Files\Microstar\Bluetooth Software\bin
12. Windows should install the necessary driver.
***You may get a "non digitally signed" message just click continue anyway.***
13. Restart the system again and you should now have "my bluetooth places on the desktop and a bluetooth symbol in the sys tray at the bottom right of the screen.
- right click the bt logo on the sys tray and select "setup" > then "security".
- Make sure the phone is near the dongle initially and then click refresh and it should find the phone in the "found devices" column
- Highlight the phone and click "execute pairing", it should then prompt you for a password, whatever you want just use numbers. The phone then should be asking you if you want to bond with the pc/laptop, click yes and enter the same password you put into the pc a minute ago - the pairing should be complete.
14. Now right click on "my bluetooth places" on the desktop and select "explore. Note the "+" signs next to "entire bluetooth neighbourhood" and click it.
- next the phone name should appear, click on the + next to this
- click on the + next to public folder
- you should now have 3 folders, i think its "audio, pictures, video" if you click on the + signs next to these and then highlight them a list of the tones/ pics, etc should appear.
You can then drag and drop the mp3 files/ pics, etc into the folder and the will transfer no problem. The closer the phone to the dongle the better the transfer rate.
When you cut the tones and are saving them select the bitrate to 64 kps only and that will be compatable with the V600
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU GUYS, AS I SAID I HAVE WIN XP NOT TOO SURE ABOUT OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS
PPS - with regards to games I think I just dragged the .jar or .jad file file to the "inbox" and they will transfer via bluetooth too

I bought a USB Bluetooth dongle (IOGear, I think - cause it was cheap), and sent an MP3 over to my phone without any problems. I can set it as the generic ringtone, or apply it to a specific person. Works either way. I didn't use any special software, either.
Lucky, I guess.
BTW, I don't doubt that others here are having real problems. I think this is just the nature of "smart" systems (computers, phones, etc). I've run into the same thing with other devices, where I have a problem but everyone else has it work perfectly. That's why I said I'm lucky in this case.
