Hi
I bought a T mobile Sonny Erricson T610 phone with new service. I live in CA bay area, and found that no signal in my home. Very little (one dot) signal sometimes at work place. Tested with my wife's work place too, signal was very weak.
I canceled the service and returned the phone. In the whole month (20 days or so) I have used less than 15 minutes total.
Now I got a bill from T mobile which includes one month service fee, access fee of 35$, and taxes. Talked to customer service, after long fight they agreed to remove access fee, but quite adament on not removing the service fee.
I am little puzled. When I bought, they were nice in saying that you can return within 30 days. But did not tell that I have to pay the service and access fee. Had I know it before, I would have returned it within three four days, instead of waiting 20 days.
Has anyone of you gone through similar experience? I felt cheated.

That is one of the things that T-Mobile is very fickle about. I have found that when I call to cancel a service within the 14 day period, if I tell the rep that they didnt get service where they needed it they don't charge the activation fee, but you still have to pay for the minutes used. If I tell them they just canceled bc they didn't like the service, they get charged for both. Whatever they decide they need to be consistent about it. I found it interesting that they gave you a 30 return policy. In north Florida they only have a 14 day cancellation policy. I would like to hear more about this if anyone has any ideas why that is. I think, the situation that u have stated is the same irrespective of the
country really look very funny as we here think that these doesnt happen in
USA/UK and so. But.... the same smell everywhere.
I too have faced such problems in India. they never tell us the things we really need to know.

T-mobile has a 14 day cancellation and return policy. The early termination fee is waived in such instances, but the service charges are valid (you used the phone, after all) and the activation fee can be waived.
