My mate bought a serial cable for his E700, and successfully unlocked his fone with it. He then went on to experiment with flashing the phone. He explained to me that he tried to back it up, but it failed, and now the phone wont even turn on. I have tried fixing it myself using info on this forum, but to no avail.
When i start downloader 3.3, i select com port, speed, and files, and when i hit start it tells me to turn phone on. When i turn phone on, i instantly get the message:
BOOT : Problem with program in external RAM : StackPointer not set
does anyone have any ideas? any help would be much appreciated

Failing to backup is not suppose to kill your phone. Did you removed the batt for a few secs before trying to start your phone?

Hello
Have you performed "NAND Format" before you press start?
I successfully flashed my E700 today with the steps below, I was using a USB data cable.
Connected phone to cable, no SIM inserted and power off
Started Downloader (SGH-E700 Downloader Ver 3.3.EXE), selected speed 115200, comport, mode "Bin&NAND, and the FW files to download
Pressed "NAND Format" and turned on the phone when prompted, after a moment I got some message saing it was OK.
Disconnected the phone from the cable and removed the battery.
Restored battery and connected the cable, pressed "Start" and turned on the phone when prompted, now the flash process started

thanks for the reply carl, but that doesnt work either. I always get the same error:
BOOT : Problem with program in external RAM : StackPointer not set
I think something really fundamental needs reseting to get it going again. Does anyone know of any tools that can do that kind of stuff?
thanks, Matt

Ok,
I found the solution!!!!
Do you see the difference with the downloader above? It sayz E700 Flasher, mine sayz Downloader v3.3, so don't use the software i used but use the Downloader v3.3
important!
After step 5 you'll have to plug in your USB cable. Not before step 5, not after step 5.
The take your phone, release the battery, plug you're phone in the USB cable, put battry back in, and go to Step 6!

I used a USB cable with charger in.
