I have the USB-data cable, thus I propouse another look to this problem.
In the theory, USB-data cable driver simulates a COM-port (lastest avaleble port on you PC).
But the OS (such as Win98,Me,W2K) does not support direct link on other port that COM1.
In our case only WinXP can help us.
If you do step by step all what I write, you can upload the JAVA-games from PC to Samsung E700.
The next software you must have: WinXP, Samsung XXXX Java Uploader v1.1 by Jabberwock, JADmaker
(if you have only *.jar files) and installed right USB DATA-cable driver.
STEP1
CONNECT! the DATA-cable to E700 and PC.
Go to the Devices Manager
(Start->right click on MyComputer->properties->Devices->Device Manager, click on "LPT and COM Ports")
you can see something like "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM3)" - USB-bridge on COM3.
Double click on this device -> Port parameters
set up the port speed as 115200, flow control set as none (absent).
Note the number of COM-port which Data-cable is have.
STEP2
Go to the link http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic11850.html
and do all steps, wich listed there. You must choose Conection device as noted number of COM-port
(in this case - COM3)
In the properties of selected communication port set up the connection speed as 115200, flow control
set as none (absent).
STEP3
Once the connection has been created, right click on it and ensure
that the COM Port tick box is ticked, then in the "users" tab ensure that
"allow Palmtop computers to connect without a password" is also ticked.
That is all for hardware part.
STEP4
If you make all right, turn OFF your phone and then turn ON.
Enter the code to enable Serial Java download - #*536963#
It should display something like "serial enable, others disable" or similar.
Then enter the code #*5737425# and select ONCE option 1, "PPP UP"
(only once, otherwise the phone will reset).
The screen should flash white for maybe 1/2 a second.
In the system tray (near the clock) the icon of connection must appear.
If it's happened - you on the right way.
STEP5
Run the "Samsung XXXX Java Uploader", open game file.
Select option 2 and Enjoy!

dear friends ,
when i try to create the connection as per the instructions given. it stops and gives me the error "The Routing and Remote Access service terminated with service-specific error 2147483720 (0x80000048)............................" and closes the wizard. please help me to create connection

This will *only* work with a serial cable, ie no usb/irda.
First up, you need to create a new network connection as shown in the diagrams below:

I had done all this in order to get games through my cable to my phone, which all worked fine (obviously some of the games didnt but that doesnt matter)...
problem now is, i cant send any picture messages, im thinking i need to disable java, enable the others... basically the #*536963# code in reverse....
any ideas?

hey all.i hav a major prob.i was able 2 transfer java games to my mobile X100 when i had my old comp.i followed t instructions found in t beginnin of t forum.but now i gotta new pc.in this when iam creating a new connection wit wizard,after "choose u are a host or a guest "promt i get a error message "incoming connections depend on routing and remote access service unable to start" so i am not even able 2 create a connection wit my mobile to pc using data cable.can anyone tell me a method 2 resolve this ?? plz.i am so desperate since i hav enjoyed t games upload 2 mobile now iam not able 2 do it 4 some reason...sorry for being so elaborate.

thank god.atleast u hav t same error 2.thought i was t only one on earth wit this prob.lol.the frustratin part is i hav been able 2 transfer games smoothly without prob in my old pc.new 1 prob has come.i tried it out in my friend's pc it had no prob.cant figure out what t prob is.hoping someone would us in this matter
