hi,
imy files are monophonic files..
midi files are polyphonic files...
many polyphonic phones support midi files..! and as you said mmf files are only for samsung..!
MIDI files are tracks played and recorded using a keyboard..!
and especially amr files are the worst ever compressed files for recording used in sony ericsson phones according to my knowledge..! but as you can still use your recording as ringtones..! in some specific models of sony ericsson ..!
and today due to the devolopment of the techonology it is possible to use mp3 files as ringtones..! in some advanced models of handsets like Sony Ericsson P900, (Symbion OS) and nokias..! ...!
hope that this would be helpfull..!
if yes please send in your opinions to this thread..! anyhow if there are any additions or corrections to be made..! please do that as quick as possible..!
bye,

Polyphonic ringtones and MIDI have converged in the last few years. You cannot directly classify MIDIs as polyphonic ringtones.

All the latest SE phones like the T6xx, Z600 and T3xx support amr files as ringtones. They are quite loud in the Z600.

Phones like the P900, N6230 etc. support MP3s as ringtones. Also, it's Symbian and not Symbion.
