Hi,
I need help.
Bought N6230 two months back and was looking for its data cable. Couldn't find DKU2 so bought GTU-8 upon suggestion of few people.
Installed driver for DKU2 and then installed Drivers for GTU-8 as supplied with the cable. there were three installers for the driver in the CD... "PL-2303 installer 1" , "PL-2303 Installer 2" and "PL-2303 v3.0". I got all of them installed.
Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 5.8 successfully.
Now the problem is... as soon as i connect my N6230 in the cable, PC says - "New hardware found - nokia 6230.. installing software for it". Then it asks for the location of driver. I tried locating it in the cd of PC suite 5.8 and the cd with data cable but in vain.
besides, on running pc suite, it shows no phone connected.
Please help getting my phone connect with PC (hardware engineer says its win98SE whereas run> winver command shows wndows 98 )!
Somebody please help!!
Regards,
Prashant

As you said: you've installed the drivers... so try to locate them on your computers harddisk drive.

As I just have seen I've totally mis-read.
I thought you were speaking about the cable drivers.
But did you followed the correct installation procedure?
| Quote: | 1) Install the cable drivers to your computer
2) Install Nokia PC Suite according to instructions.
3) Plug in the cable. Windows should recognize the cable and find the drivers for it.
Select Yes to the Digital signature question if you accept it, and the drivers will be installed.
4) Start Nokia Connection Manager (if not already open)
5) Select USB connection in Nokia Connection Manager.
6) Plug in the cable to the phone
The phone should be shown in Nokia Connection Manager phone list. |

And the drivers should come with PC Suite.
Than I guess it's because it's not an original Nokia Cable.

but if it recognises my handset (says - new hardware found Nokia 6230) and also my handset displays - Data Enhancement Conneced. I believe it means data cable is working properly.
I just don't understand why the PC can't locate driver for handset when DKU2 setup is installed and PC suite 5.8 is installed too.
Any suggestions Jedi?
Regards,
Prashant.
