df why are you saying lol man ???? and Don, yo my phone only gets warm when my hand is over it. i used my phone only holding it by the sides (quite a feat !!) and anyways only the keys got warm, not the back or the battery. so i hope theirs no prob. thanks for all the help though. there is no problem right ?

apologies - i thought Don was joking when he said your phone was dangerous
sounds normal to me - my phone gets quite hot when its in use, but its only because of the current draw on the battery.
I think this is normal and theres nothing to worry about.

no worries man. anyways this does put my mind at ease. thanks alot. so i am now wondering is it okay to put those plastic covers for the phone so that dust doesn't come? are those things alright to use ?

its not going to melt down. The plastic they use for the phones can take 100 degrees centigrade or 212 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 30 minutes so if its getting that hot you still have 20 to 30 minutes to remove it.

i have an x100 and it does not get warm at all.
in fact, i get a chill every time i pick it up.
