when i use my x100 for a while, the keypad and battery get quite warm. is this normal or is there a problem?

If you mean after 5 min thats not normal. But 30 mins yes than its normal.

yeah its after about 30 min or so. thanks alot man i was pretty worried. but why is this ? normal phones don't get warm like this ? is it because it is color ? does this happen for all color phones or only the x100 ?

Your hand makes the phone warm and the phone makes your hand warm so it gets warmer and warmer its the circle of life. All my phones have that.

If im correct your sim is under the battery which makes your phone warm.

but even when my hand is not over the battery the phone still gets warm - at least i think so..... if this happens is that also normal ?

No thats not normal i think you should get another phone your x100 is dangerous
