i've had the e700 for a few days now......i wanted to know, when you take a picture in "128*128 quality mode" , the picture size is around 5kb if you check the properties of the picture. However, if you go to the memory status window, you will see that 32KB of your memory has been used by that picture. Even if i transfer the picture on my computer, it shows 5kb but its taking 32KB of phone memory. Can anybody tell the reason for this?
Also, how can i turn of t9 once and for all. I have to turn it off everytime i have to write a new message.
thanks

The reason why you can't turn off the T9 is because samsungs marketing sucks. And I have no explenation why your phones are messing around with the kb's. I guess its a software error and its working with chinese byte or something.

im not sure im right about this, just guessing really, so dont quote me ...
I think that this probably has something to do with some kind of minimum data chunk size or something, which i think is 32kb.
This would explain why ringtones can only take up 32k, and why photos etc appear to take up multiples of 32kb.
You can see this on your computer (if xp with NTFS, not sure about others). The minimum data chunk size is 4kb. Even if i create a text file which only has one byte in it, itll still take up 4kb on disk.
Given that the phone has 9mb of memory, i dont see how a couple of stray kb are a problem anyway to be honest.
Again, im not saying this theory is right, just that it seems to make sense. If this is the case, then you cant fix it, obviously.
Anyone have a better idea ?

does this happen on your phone? is it only mine? also this really reduces my mem. size for java apps. it says i can download 1.2mb of java apps but in reality only abt 400kb. does this happen for all samsungs or all x100's or only my phone ????

yeah it happens on my phone too.
theres nothing you can do about it i dont think.
whats the point in 1.2 meg for java apps anyway - given the games are about 100kb a piece, you can fit several in at the same time ..... how many can you play at once ?!

it really sucks because anyways its good to be able to store many games on your phone because otherwise you have to keep on erasing and then downloading again. that'sa also bad advertising. so does this happen to all phoens or only samsungs ?
does anyone else know if this is possible to be fixed or something like that ?
