I also have a Samsung X427 and I just got a cable and the easy GPRS software. I got a disk of ringtones, wallpapers and games off of ebay. I can use the GPRS software to add ringtones and wallpapers to my phone, but the melody composer and the file manager are greyed out and unavailbe to me. Can anyone help? Is there another way to download the games into my phone? I do not have cellular internet access.

The filemanager is to get photo's off the phone not pictures and ringtones in EasyGPRSes case. You can with EasyStudio but it doesn't work anymore the latest tones and pics are DRM protected. In the feature you can add your own games to your firmware and flash it to your phone with the tool http://januka.altervista.org

My cable and GRPS work fine for getting things ON the phone...but what I would really like to do is:

Change the picture that is standard on the wallpaper called "digital clock"... or if I can find out what format this wallpaper was written in, then I could create another one and upload it via GPRS..

Any ideas?

I love the clock, hate the race car icon_biggrin.gif

Hasn't somebody written a file manager for the X427?

I went to the above link. Is this as scary as it looks?

Thanks for your help,

You can only change the standart things by modding it than flashing it. Make a backup of your firmware with Optiflash 3.6 than mod it. Could you sendme a copy of your firmware?

Also...I found the Optiflash 3.6 and downloaded it, but I don't see any reference in the program to my phone - Samsung X427 - nor do I find any instructions at all on how to do this? Can you point me somewhere?
