I have an LG4011 and purchased the data cable .... I installed the USB drivers and the software and the problem is that when I connect the computer cannot "see" the phone.
I have reinstalled about 3 times and keep getting the same problem. I looked at
windows devices and checked to see if the driver is installed correctly and it is.
I am using windows xp and the PL2303 driver and LG contents bank software.
Has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions to correct???

I got everything installed & wonder of wonders, I actually got it to work, once.
I transfered one of the tones that was included in with the software & shut the program down, unhooked the phone, & low & behold, it actually was there & I was able to set it as my ringtone.
So, then I went & used midi2poly to make a tone out of a midi.
Opened up the LG Contents Bank program, hit the connect button, & I get the microsoft error telling me that the program has encountered a problem & needs to close, we're sorry for the inconvenience. Sometimes I get as far as connecting, choose the file, & try to transfer it, & then it goes belly up. Once, thinking maybe the file I already downloaded might be a problem, I tried to delete the file, & it wouldn't delete it. It didn't go belly up, but gave me some other error.
I thought I had finally figured out this whole transfering ringtones thing, but now it won't work!
Would appreciate any assistance you can provide, thanks.

Same Problem Here.

I'm really glad someone else is having the same problem as I am. The one file I did get transfered, shows up as being there & will play as it's supposed to in one section, but in another section, it shows & plays as one of the other ringers. It will not play as one of the ringers. And, because the program won't function, I cannot delete the file that's not playing correctly. I haven't gotten anywhere with Cingular & was refered to LG or a dealer in my area. I have yet to follow up on that.

i had the same problem... i got LG contents bank to work once... after it would encounter problems. it did this for about 3 weeks untill i downloaded LG Data Connection Kit from the lg site for a diff country. its in english and now contents bank works fine! just do a google search for LG data connetcion kit
