thanks for the links i sort of understood what they were sayin but id like to clarify this...
wap 1.2.1 is the same as xHTML? with wap1.2.1 u cannot view HTML webpages (normal webpages), but with wap2.0 cHTML you can view normal webpages and not just wap sites ?

not quite....
wap 1.2.1 is based on XML, wap 2.0 is based on xhtml. chtml doesnt come into it, this is i-mode, which i dont have a clue about.
with wap 2, you should be able to view web pages (i think), but not 1.2.1
i think thats right, unless anyone wants to correct me ?

Not quite. The nokia spec says:
"xHTML browser (over WAP 1.2.1 Stack) for improved browsing experience and richer graphics"
Theyve obviously done some of there own development or something to make it support this.
Its not that important anyway, as browsing the web on 4096 colors within 128 x 128 pixel screen will be crap anyway.
Personally i think its an ugly looking phone, like the other 3xxx series phones
(PS This should really be in the nokia talk section )

so does that mean the nokia 3210 with xhtml over wap1.2.1 can view html (normal webpages) ? i am wondering cause i hav x100 and thought only x100 with wap2.0 can view normal html pages.

to be honest - i dont know anything about the nokia, except what i can tell from their website. It would appear that the 3120 can support xhtml, and so i suppose standard websites.
Either way, the x100 isnt the only wap2.0 phone out there able to view webpages, the T68i (out for two years now) also has wap2.
I dont see that its a problem if you already have a superior phone ??
