No corporation is out to squash its customers like bugs. All major corporations have executive offices with agent that respond to excalated issues, all the way up to the BBB and AG. All companies want to make sure their customers are satisfied, and they most certainly want to hear from you if you are not. They are not able to fix a problem unless they know about it. If you are not getting signal for several days, and suddenly you decide to call in wanting credit for the two weeks you didn't get service, the first thing you are going to be asked is why didn't you call in earlier? If they didn't know you weren't getting signal on your phone they can't fix it. You should never hesitate to let a company know when you are not completely satisfied. After all, you are paying for the service. And in the case of wireless service, it is much cheaper to keep current customers than to replace them. But the time the company pays commission, give your a free phone, processes the paper work it can cost them $500-$600. If you are under contract and cancel your service and have to pay a $200 ETF, the company still loses money. Always let someone know when you aren't happy, you won't be squashed like a bug.
