Man, I hate Nokia now...
The 7610 won't be able to use normal MMCs...
I just stumbled over the 7610 FAQ:
| Quote: | 6. What is the difference between a Reduced Size MultiMediaCard (MMC) and a normal MultiMediaCard? Can you use the same MMC in the Nokia 6600 phone as in the Nokia 7610 phone?
The Reduced Size MultiMediaCard (provided in the Nokia 7610 phone sales package) is physically smaller than the MMC provided in the Nokia 6600 sales package. However, an adapter will be distributed in the Nokia 7610 phone sales package. With the adapter you can use the Reduced Size MMC in the Nokia 6600 phone. |
That's why they sell the phone with an adapter... I always thought "They sell it with a Reduced Size MMC and the phone needs the adapter to use it... so it will be able to use normal MMCs..."
I should stop thinking...

yupp... I watched the demo after reading this FAQ... the show how the MMC is put in... there is no space for a normal MMC...
So if I get my 7610 (maybe) in November, I've got to buy a new MMC... and have to sell my 256 MB MMC (or use it in my digi cam )

For the size... yes, quite like a SIM card
And I haven't found a online retailer who sells RS MMCs (in Germany)...
I've found some news about them... but those where written end of 2002... they promise 128 MB & 256 MB will be released in 2003... well... it gives a little hope... maybe my retailer has to make a special order... and it's gonna be f*cking expensive...

It's gonna be expensive because my retailer has to order them especially for me because they don't have it in their regular sale...
Most times special orders are expensive...
