I don't think, there will be an external memory stick. and for what videos? the quality of the display is to bad for videos, better buy than an 3650.

Messangers are only for 7650/3650 known.

If I read your post, I ask myself why you bought a 6610...

Memory-Sticks for the pop-port are absurd, because it would not really hold... the Headset is sometimes dieconnecting itself when I have the phone in my pocket and a memory-stick would be bigger.
The memory also must have a pop-port to connect the headset or a camera. When not, it's very useless.

And watching movies is more absurd. I mean, it's needless.
When I want such feature I would buy another, better phone.
And the display is to bad, it's just passive matrix and to slow.
Ever tried a gif on the 6610? It's just to slow for it.

Ok, that thing with the messanger for the 6610 was new to me, only heard about the one for 7650/3650.
But do you really need it? Do have so much money that you can stay online with your phone? It's to expensive.

my network offers free unlimited connection to WAP via GPRS icon_biggrin.gif icon_razz.gif so that possibility would be a convenience..... although my battery would run-out faster.... icon_twisted.gif

Here's some info I found on Oplayer JV

Quote:

Oplayo's mobile video player for J2ME (Java™ 2 Platform, Micro Edition), OplayerJV™ enables streaming of video to low cost mass-market mobile phones over GSM data connections. Current video services are only available for high-end phones however the OplayerJV™ enables significantly larger market coverage.

With the help of OplayerJV™, service providers will be able to create profitable commercial video services for a broad target customer group. With Oplayer JV a service provider can create commercial video services, where pay-per-view and subscription based viewing is possible.

It this stage it looks like it will only play streamed video. I dont think the quality will be very good considering WAP over GPRS speeds.

The 6610 is no low cost mass-market mobile phone icon_huh.gif I paid 3 month ago 149 Euro... no it's at 99 Euro... so it's no low cost icon_shifty.gif

here in Malta, Europe, hi-tech equipment comes very expensive. I bought my 6610 3 months ago. It cost me around 375 Euros when converted from our currency because yet we are not members of the EU.
About the Oplayer, I downloaded it yesterday via GPRS. Video quality seems terrible to me...
I think it works better on other mobiles such as the 3650

Udani,

Since u r a loyal customer of orange (like me), i would like to let u know that orange DOES NOT support streaming audio/video to date. After having a talk with the person at the santacruz centre, he assured me that it would be a while before this would be implemented.

Also i find the idea of that memory stick to be a little "over the edge" by nokia.
Let me tell u one more thing, i have a 3650 and have loaded movies in it. But even in a 3650, it is very difficult to actually be able to view the movie that properly.

Also i would like to know how does nokia plan to allow to connect ext memory stick to 6610?? If its direct plug-in then nokia will have to develop a mem stick for the pop-port phones(like se did for p800), which should be very costly.

And if it will be done by the means of a cable, then cost of that cable should be like that of the dku-5.

Also i am very interested in knowing the source of ur info regarding the mem sticks.

Also i visited the oplayer site. Interesting concept. But it hasn't been implemented even in europe till date. So it will be a while before it will be implemented here. And how clear will the video be at a MAX resolution of 128 x 96 pixels??
