Hi,
I'm trying to hear number of mp3 tracks in sequence both from the direct phone memory and from the MMC. According to the user guide and I quote:
“Music files stored in the Music player folder will automatically be detected and added to the default play list. Music files stored in another place, in a folder of the multimedia card for example, need to be defined in the play list before you can listen to them."
I searched both the phone and the user guide and failed to find where such play list can be managed from.
So my question is how can I define music files from the MMC in the play list and how can I create new play lists.
Thanks in advance

Mp3 files on the MMC are automatically updated onto the playlist in Media -> Music Player.
If not, switch off the phone and re-switch on. If it still doesn't work, open the current playlist and there's an option on the options to re-load track list or similar.

Hay, many thanks
My mistake was that I've arranged everything in number of folders on the MMC. No that all the files are in the root of the MMC it can be played from the music player.
I still have 2 questions:
1. Can I add an mp3 track from within a folder on the MMC?
2. Is it possible to manage number of playing list in addition to the "all tracks" default list?
Thanks in advance

1) No, the mp3 files MUST be in the root MMC folder.
2) No, i don't think you can. Whats on there is on there. If u dont want it showing up on the playlist, you can place it in another folder or simply skip it when playing.
Your welcome

Hi, It looks like if you want mp3 files to play in the correct order you have to create a playlist which you can do using the Audio manager in the PC Suite.

Which PC suite do you use?
I'm using 6.1.08 and there is only "transfer music" and no "Audio manager" .
What file format will it creat for the play list ?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm using 6.2.017 from the nokia site. Transfer Music on the PC Suite takes you to Nokia Audio Manager which allows you to define .m3u playlists and transfer them to a hidden folder on the phone. The playlists controls the play order can refer to files in sub-folders - hurrah!

No you need to edit the the mp3's ID3 Tags and give them a Name and Artist. This way the 6230 will detect all songs in the phone, including those in folders. you will need a Mp3 Tag editor to do this and not nokia's Audio manager which is useless as it doesn't support some mp3 format ID3 tags. (e.g. those made by IPOD)

That's too easy.
I can't believe this but I'll try to get it working this way. I only use Debian GNU/Linux and so it would be awesome not to be forced to install Windump only to get a playlist including songs in folders on the mmc. Let's get it on!

Doesn't work for me. My mp3 files are tagged with title, artist, album and track number. The 6230 detects the mmc correctly but can't find any song if it isn't stored in the root directory of the mmc. Now there are about 250 songs in the root directory and the music player recognises only 200. WTF?!
