Hi,
So what can the data kit do for my x426? (canadian phone)
Id like to upload animated pics, and ringtones also.
Is it easy to convert mp3/wav files to a polyphonic ringtone format for my phone to use?
thx

that phones old school.. i honestly don't think that phone has those types of capibilities.. the easiest way to get things on your phone (ringtones, graphics) would be to upload them to some website, then enter the url of what the item you want to DL (www.mywebsite.com/mysong.mp3) in the Navigate browser. it'll download to the phone that way, but you gotta pay for the data usage of course just so you know (don't be calling in Rogers customer care freaking out on them about the data charges!) lol

1st of all, you need a compatible cable for your phone. If it is an usb cable, you need the correct usb to serial driver installed in your PC. After you installed the driver, you have to check which COM port is assigned to the usb cable. Check Ports (COM & LPT) in Device Manager. Samsung's PC Studio PIMS will handle the uploading and downloading. You have to setup the PIMS correctly to use the same COM port that is assigned to the cable and set the port speed to 115200. If everything is setup properly, you should see your phone's model number display on the status bar on the bottom of the PIMS window. If you see offline, it means something is wrong. If everything is good, select File Manager option, it is where you do all the uploading for pictures and ringtones. If you have X426, the ringtone format is either mid or mmf. Convert wav file to mmf and make sure it is <40K in size as your phone will only accept mmf which is <40K in size.
