New to Verizon (formerly Sprint).

Phone - LG VX6000 (Love it)
Plan - America's Choice Familyshare (we have two phones)
Area - Seattle.

I've heard the VX6000 is digital, but I don't get a "D" icon on my phone. Is this reserved for customers who sign up for the "Digital Plan"?

Other then that, phone is great and coverage in the Seattle/East Side area seems good.

Found my answer in another forum. For those who don't know -

Quote:
Most of the phones now show the 1x icon instead of the d for digital. The 1x stands for the 1xrtt network.

My phone does display the 1x icon. icon_biggrin.gif

You have a digital phone but over half of verizon's service is analog. Take a look at the Verizon prepaid service compared to the Regular Service. The prepaid is the Verizon only towers so if you live in an area thats not covered by the prepaid map then its probablly not a digital area.

I don't think half of Verizon's service is analog....That's not true.
If your phone displays the 1x icon, you are on Verizon's 1x digital network. 1x is newer and better than the old digital( D ); data connections are faster and 1x digital can handle more calls at once.
Hope this helped,
Andy

Ok, I feel I may have to argue this.....Why is it I had an old phone I think it was the LM510? and now upgraded to the LG VX 4500....and the LG VX 4500 is a digital phone, and the reception is not as good. I have a harder time hearing the person on the other end with out them sounding muffled. icon_confused.gif

But, the LM510 is an older phone and I didn't seem to have this problem...Any input?
