Hello guys,
I bought a 6610 recently and had problems with display. It wouldn't light up if the caller is member of a "caller group" whose ring tone was set to anything other than "Default". My dealer advised me to have my phone (firmware?) upgraded and so I did. Now I am not able to select ringtones from the Gallery for "Caller Groups" (The "Open Gallery" entry doesn't appear in the "Group Ringtone" menu.
1. What is the best/latest version of firmware for 6610? (Mine is now V 3.09)
2. Is it possible for me to download and update it myself?
3. If yes, how do I do it?

1. In most countries v3.09 is very old, in some is v4.74 the newest. Maybe you ask in the Nokia Care Center again or you may call the Nokia Care Line of your country.
2. It's illegal and you will lost your warranty if you do.
3. Otherwise you need a lot more than a normal Datacable, it's to expensive for normal use.

Can anyone enlighten me on the differences between v4.74 vs v3.09? 
What's the added features in v4.74?

I have just sent my old model back to nokia, and they have replaced with a new one which has 4.74 firmware. The only thing i noticed is that the clock screensaver is much clearer when the light is not on. Everything else appears the same. I dont know where of if you can dowload the latest firmware.

I understand that N7210 does not allow user to set caller group ringtone from the gallery. Does v4.74 (or N6610) allow this?

nah more stable but still no changing of graphic in the caller groups

Check your firmware version. V3.09 will not allow you to customize tones for caller groups and for the message alert. Upgrade to at least V4.18 to do those.
