I just recently got an unlocked AT&T branded Moto V600, and I'm using it with relatively little trouble on my Cingular account. I do, however, have a few minor details that would be nice to resolve. My first/biggest problem is the web browser - I've managed to get it to connect, but it seems I can't view any websites, I usually get a Data Server Unavailable error, or on a WAP page, I get an Unrecognized File Type error. I was, however, able to download a wallpaper by entering the whole address to it, .jpg extension included (By the way, I found most/all of the web settings for Cingular, and entered them into a new web session entry - some may be missing/incorrect though, a correct list would be GREAT!). My second issue, which is really not a big deal, is the AT&T branding all over the place, like mMode instead of web browser, and the power on/off screens.
So my question is - should I speak to someone at a Cingular store and see if they can update the software for me? Would that lock it to Cingular? Is it worth the trouble, or should I just live with it?
Thanks in advance.

I can speak to my story. I bought the phone (V600) from an e-tailer in the UK. When I received the phone, the message indicator would not reset. I got in touch with my Cingular B2B rep, who in turn put me in touch with a guy at Motorola. I sent him the device, and he updated the software to Cingular's build (and express mailed it to me).

I now have a Cingular-branded (still unlocked/SIM-free) device that works on their sites. I lost my monopoly game (it was really cool), but other than that, everything's been fine.

i agree with your statement about the monopoly game, it's a great game to play when you need to wait for something which is why I haven't tried to flash my phone to a newer firmware. i wonder if i could download it off and then put it back. oh well, i'll keep playing it for now

I just got my 2nd ATT V600 and unlocked it. I have all the settings working to use GPRS and MMS through Cingular.

your GPRS account activated.
For cingular users

Go to

The only problem is that i dont mmode(until i installed it but i cant view any web pages) and the main problem is that i cant send out or receive any multi-media messages. I dont know what to do. i looked into every option and there is a lot of things i can change, but i dont know any codes or stuff like that. can anyone help because i spent hours on the phone with att and they did nothing..

Can i unlock my v400 without any cables, or software? Maybe entering a few keystrokes somewhere in a menu?

I have recently purchased a Motorola V600 (unlocked & unbranded) onm Ebay. Everything works fine except I am not able to send or receive multimedia messages.
I have found the post by cellfreak very useful. I am sure that my seetings are much more accurate after making the changes listed by cellfreak. But I am still unable to send or receive multimedia messages.
Any suggestions?

A question for cellfreak or anyone who can provide an answer: at the beginning of your post you list the settings for "Using CSD (aka Wireless Internet)" and for "Using GPRS (aka Wireless Internest Express)". I am unable to find a way to insert those settings on my Motorola V600. I have searched the various menus high and low without success.
Any suggestions?
