Call customer care, they are open 24/7 if you are having reception problems with the phone. They will do a few things for you, first they will troubleshoot to see if it is the phone itself causing the trouble. If it is they will get a replacement for you (under warranty). If there is a site down they will submit a service ticket to our tech team. If you have been having the issue for some time and never had it before it could very well be the phone. Some people think that T-Mobile knows when your not getting reception (the only way to know is to tell T-Mobile). And to switch to Cingular will not help the coverage. Cingular is T-Mobile's romaing partner, if someone received better reception after switching to them, its because they had a problem with their phone, and getting a new phone fixed the problem.

All I can say is tru dat. Besides, the best service depends on where you live. The more rural the more unlikely. Though that has been changeing across the US greatly. T-Mobile is not perfect. But no one carrier is. Sometimes, you just have to try different services where you live. That's becuase sometimes the larger carrier have roaming agreements with other companies in order to extend their coverage area. That's also why there is such as thing as buyers remorse. In most states generally you have 14 days or more to check all the places you need coverage. If you don't get it where you need it, then get on the ball and cancel so you are not in a situation where you have a service you are unhappy with. If you are proactive in your choices, then why gripe? Of course, there are 'special' circumstances, however, ya gotta take care of your business. It's YOUR responsibility that the service you sign up for is the one that works best for you!

My coverage has always been excellent. And for those searching for a first time or new carrier, I think there is a simple solution to avoid bad reception:

• Visit the websites of the carriers in mind and use the coverage locators to provide maps of signal strength that they claim you should receive in any given area.

• Search for the area in which you will use your service most (i.e. home, school, or work)

Doing a little research before committing will be a lot of help and save you quite a bit of hassle, in my opinion.

i did a little reading and umts looks very promising. umts is the future of voice technology. now who wins on the data end? lte? wimax? wibro? i think att rollout of hsdpa is a bad move with wimax and now lte around the corner. sure it'll give att a slight edge on the data side, but for what? half a year? they should save thier money and back one of the 4g solutions.Or sprint can just easily roll out evdo rev b and then wait for lte. which is probably the best bet. evdo rev b can reach speeds up to 9 Megs Down which is faster than hsdpa.
